The biggest even of cricket returns to Australia and New Zealand after 23 long years! Hence the great game of cricket and its biggest flagship event down under deserves a grand opening ceremony! Here we are few hours away from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 opening ceremony. We will let you know almost everything about today's opening ceremony. Since Australia and New Zealand are combined hosts for the 11th edition of cricket world cup, two-act opening ceremony will be held at Melbourne and New Zealand.
Christchurch's North Hagley Park in New Zealand will host the opening ceremony to celebrate the absolute passion of cricket. Sir Richard Hadlee, Brendon McCullum and Stephen Fleming would make appearances during the opening ceremony. While a free event will kick off from 6:30pm local time where one can enjoy some entertainers, local and national team heroes; the main event would kick off at 9:00pm local time. It would include a cultural welcome. This would be followed by video appearance by renowned New Zealand sports persons. After ceremonial speeches, official opening of the world cup, one can enjoy live music show by Shapeshifter, live drum and bass event act Hayley Westenra, Sol3 Mio and Ginny Blackmore. Plus some fireworks to add flavour in the end!
Opening ceremony in Australia will be held at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. One can enjoy presence of some great world cup legends, musical and cultural performances, fireworks and much  more. 

Australian R&B and pop singer Jessica Hilda Mauboy, Tina Arena, an Australian singer-songwriter, Nathaniel and Daryl Braithwaite, along with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra with musical director, Chong Lim will provide fun to the crowd with their musical performances.
