As we wrote in our earlier post, team Zimbabwe might go down but they will go down fighting. India managed a win in the 1st ODI by just four runs. It could have gone the other way too. Bhuvaneshwar bowled a good last over to capture a win. Ambati Rayudu smashed a big ton and Binny gave him a nice stand. That is how winning could be made. Its Sunday and time for 2nd ODI between India and Zimbabwe. Watch it live with Ten Sports live streaming and live telecast on Ten Cricket HD with English and Hindi commentary.
After an unexpected defeat in Bangladesh, Indian team received a lot of criticism. Questions were raised against Dhoni's captaincy. The team was badly looking for a win. Another win in this series and India will stick to the second position in ODI rankings. A 3-0 series win will strengthen their spot in the ICC ODI rankings.
Ajinkya Rahane, the captain for India in this series was happy to kick off the series with a win. Ambati Rayudu who scored an impressive ton said this would certainly be one of his best innings. He also felt that the batting conditions were more like England. The ball did a lot at the start. The only thing India need to be careful about is the fragile middle order. If the middle order clicks, Zimbabwe would find it difficult to beat India.
Elton Chigumbura, Zimbabwe captain too scored a century but it went in vain as the team lost the match by just four runs. He said his team lost a lot of wickets in group and that cost them the match. He assured the team would try to bounce back hard. By the way Elton is just three wickets away from 100 wickets mark. Once he does that he will be the second Zimbabwe player to reach a landmark of 100 wickets and 3000 runs in ODI cricket.
We doubt if there would be any changes in the playing XI for India. Although Rahane would be tempted to include Manish Pandey in place of Kedar Jadhav or Manoj Tiwary. Similary he might think of replacing Dhawal Kulkarni with Mohit Sharma or Sandeep Sharma. With so many good options warming the bench a change could be possible but at the same time the think tank might give an extended run to the players who were a part of 1st ODI.
Meanwhile Australia has lost the first test of the Ashes to England. At the same time the associate team members are playing their heart out to make a place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016.
