Most of the test cricket fans would be fascinated with the ongoing Ashes series. England has pulled out a big win over Australia to win the Ashes series. Hopefully India and Sri Lanka would take some motivation from the Ashes and play well in the Cricbuzz Cup (India vs Sri Lanka 2015 test series). Watch India vs Sri Lanka live streaming and telecast on Sony Six and Sony Kix HD network with live English and Hindi commentary.
Indian team got their hands on to the cricketing conditions here in Sri Lanka when they played a three day tour game against Sri Lanka Board President's XI. Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan did a good job in the first innings by scoring 109 and 62. Lokesh Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara contributed 43 and 42 runs respectively. Kasun Rajitha claimed five wickets.
Some great bowling from Ishant Sharma, Varun Aaron and Ashwin helped India bowl out the SL Board XI for just 121. India in reply could manage just 180 runs. The match resulted in a draw when Board's XI scored 200 for 6 in the allotted time on day 3.
Sans the injuries issues on both the sides, the highlight for this series would certainly be Kumar Sangakkara. He will retire from International cricket after playing first two test matches. One shouldn't forget great contribution of current Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews who is doing wonders with bat and ball for his team.
For India, Murali Vijay is out of contention for the first test due to injury. So Lokesh Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan will open the innings for India. Virat Kohli has made his intentions pretty clear that he would like to play five bowlers. This means Saha, the current wicketkeeper for Indian test team will bat on sixth position. Eyes would also be set on Virat Kohli's batting form.
Indian team haven't had a good test record in away series. Although India have a 14-6 test head to head record against Srilanka, their away record is dismal. Hence Sri Lankan team has an upper hand in this test series.
The first test begins on 12th August while second and third test matches will begin from 20th and 28th August 2015 respectively.
