Time to switch the format and get back to the shortest one! Time for some fearless cricket! Yes we move on from ODI to T20 cricket. India vs Australia T20 International series. The first T20 match will be played at the Adelaide Oval. Indian team would love to register a win on the Republic Day that is 26th January 2016. Watch India vs Australia 1st T20 match live streaming and telecast on Star Sports HD network and HotStar mobile app.
After four close encounters in the ODI series, India managed a big win over Australia in the last ODI. That was the first and the only time a team has chased 300 plus score in Australia against Australia. The scoreline of 4-1 didn't do justice to the actual quality cricket that was played in the ODI series.
Both teams looked fabulous while batting. Bowling wise Indian team looked a little wayward and so was the case with fielding in first three matches. Out of the 3100 plus runs scored in the ODI series, 400 plus were scored by Rohit alone. He was declared Man of the Series. Pandey who was playing his fourth ODI match, scored a 80 ball 100 run knock that took India home in the last ODI. He was declared Man of the Match. The other centurions in the last ODI were Marsh and Warner. Rohit Sharma was caught behind unfortunately on 99!
Bumrah has impressed many with his bowling. Ishant Sharma is showing piece of experience in his bowling. Return of Harbhajan, Nehra and Yuvraj will bring the much needed calm and composure into the team. Likes of hard hitting Raina will further strengthen the team. Dhoni who has somehow lost his powerful hitting ability will have to adapt to the lower order batting line up and give youngsters a chance to bat above him. That would allow youngsters to get exposed to as much pressure as possible before they play in the most prestigious T20 event i.e. ICC T20 World Cup 2016.
Here are the squads for the T20 series:
India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (c & wk), Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Hardik Pandya, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Rishi Dhawan, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel.
Australia: Steve Smith (c), Shaun Marsh, Kane Richardson, Cameron Boyce, John Hastings, Travis Head, Chris Lynn, Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, James Faulkner, Matthew Wade (wk), Scott Boland, Nathan Lyon, Andrew Tye, Shaun Tait, David Warner, Shane Watson.
Australian squad looks strong and so does Indian squad. None of the teams in the world at this moment would like to pitch a weak T20 side, simply because the T20 World Cup isn't too far. These T20 matches would work as a preparation for the big ICC event. India would infact play good number of T20 matches before the start of T20 World Cup 2016. Three T20 games here in Australia would be followed by a short version series against Sri Lanka which will then be followed by Asia Cup 2016 played in a T20 format. Hope such a strong preparation helps team India perform better in the ICC World Twenty20 2016.
